Middle School Teacher – Far North Queensland - FILLED BY US!

An opportunity to live, teach and explore in a special part of North Queensland. Work with a group of caring teachers and support staff to shape the lives of the local young people.

Who will you work for?
This school is a private P-9 college with 110 students, 9 teachers and plenty of support staff. Based in Normanton, a town that will allow you to live a fantastic outdoor lifestyle, in a year-round Summer climate with direct access to amazing camping, four-wheel driving and fishing. This school community is lead by a young and enthusiastic principal that supports his staff and genuinely cares about the success of the students. As a member of this schooling community, you will have access to great teaching and learning facilities whilst being exposed to continual professional development opportunities.

The role itself?
As a teacher you will be responsible for facilitating the learning experiences of the middle school students across Maths, Science, English, Health & Physical Education. • Developing and implementing successful behaviour management strategies

  • Engaging in an on-going and progressive professional development program

  • Providing timely and accurate academic reporting data

  • Facilitating extra-curricular sporting, academic & social activities

  • Identifying opportunities to improve within the classroom and schooling environment

  • Offering a supportive, collaborative and inclusive environment to young people to learn and grow

The perfect person for this role would be someone with a degree in education (primary/secondary) and some previous experience in a schooling environment. A person that has an ability to establish, maintain and develop relationships with students, support staff and the local community. It would also be preferable that you are open-minded, culturally aware and willing to engage in the local community.

How will you be rewarded?
You will be rewarded for your contributions to the school with an attractive salary (proportionate to the number of years you have been teaching), superannuation, remote allowance, annual travel allowance and accommodation subsidy.

In addition to this package, you must be aware that engaging in this type of schooling environment for a 2-3 year period will almost guarantee you opportunities to re-locate back to larger city centres should you choose.
