Southern Development Manager - Precision Ag Specialist - FILLED BY US!

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated development manager with a precision agriculture background to manage a network across key cropping areas in Australia.

The role itself?
Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assist with the development, communication and implementation of the organisation’s objectives and tactical plans through strong leadership and strategic vision

  • Analyse the performance of service and sales data to identify deficiencies in training or missed opportunities and to develop action plans to correct these deficiencies

  • Work with Dealers to establish sales, service and training requirements

  • Collaborate with the Sales Manager to grow Dealer understanding of brand presence and to build the Ag Leader brand

  • Assist Sales Manager in evaluating and recruiting the right kind of Dealer partnerships to provide sales and support in underserved areas

  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasising agreements and working through differences to a positive win/win conclusion using a variety of soft skills to influence appropriately

  • Provide skills development and product knowledge training to Dealers

  • Ensure Dealers are informed of changes in pricing, product availability and other important company communication or initiatives

  • Plan and execute Field Days, Dealer training, conferences and other events that provide opportunities for the understanding and promotion of company products and brand

  • Provide Sales Manager updates on Dealer sentiment, market trends, competitive information and future business and product opportunities through weekly reporting

  • Work effectively with the Support Team to provide an extension of their work in the field when issues become complex

  • Make farm gate and customer visits with Dealers to represent the company, learn and report on customer needs and to model a consultative sales approach

What kind of person will fit the role?
The successful applicant will have:

  • A Passion for Precision Agriculture

  • Formal qualifications in business, agriculture or related field will be highly regarded

  • Minimum 3 years of successful hands-on precision agriculture field experience

  • Familiarity with all Australian and New Zealand farming practices in production agriculture

  • Hands-on experience using precision technology and software

  • Comfortable modelling a consultative sales and service approach, utilising effective listening, prospecting and negotiation techniques

  • Comfortable presenting to small and large audiences and delivering information in a charismatic way

  • Comfortable calling on prospective dealer contacts

  • Effective leadership, motivational, organisational and communication skills
