An opportunity to join a thriving lychee farm that is nestled 10mins from the beach and work with a great team of people.

Who will you work for?
This is a unique lychee production business located on the Sunshine Coast that would provide you with an opportunity to live and work in amazing part of Australia. The farm itself is tidy, well maintained and very productive. All of the lychees produced are sold through a marketing group where 90% end up in Asia. This farm is owned and managed by an experienced farmer and his business partner who has no day-to-day engagement on the farm.

The role itself?
Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for::

  • Operation of farm machinery including tractors, sprayers and mowers

  • Coordination of irrigation and fertigation

  • Operation of elevated platform equipment

  • Orchard management including monitoring of pests and bugs

  • General farm and workshop maintenance as required

  • Ability to work unsupervised and independently on your own

  • Completing tasks & projects both independently and as part of a team

  • Reliability, honesty and self-motivation

  • Ensure that OH&S obligations are implemented and adhered to by team members

What kind of person will fit the role?
The perfect person for this role will have qualifications in horticulture, as well as proven experience in irrigation, tree cropping and farm machinery operation. As you will be working as part of a small team, it is extremely important that you have an ability to communicate, collaborate and lead.
